Thousands of images brighten the emptiness left when the dreams were carried away. Dawn survived. A sun rises over blankness. A spider falls into nothing, spinning a web across the void. The wind drops seeds into the barren. A meadowlark pauses inside the empty, and sings.
Where Are the Lords?
by Sondra Ball
Where are the lords of towers and towns who own the power and skill of peace, who would bring all the death craft down and make all wars this day to cease? Where are the ones who see the need, who know the ways we find release from all this anger, fear, and greed? Where are the new and loving clans who will allow us to be freed from lusts of war, will build a land like Eden from this blood stained sand?
